I've read some of the IPCC reports on climate change and the case for human caused global warming looks to be very strong. I'm not an environmentalist. I think most environmentalists hug trees and hate people. However, I think climate change is a real problem. The other thing I learned from reading the reports is that there are huge unknowns in how the earth's climate works, so I think future predictions of climate are rather undependable. Things could be better or worse than projected.

The US is a leader in trying to reduce the unknowns, but as usual our contribution is totally unappreciated by the rest of the world.

Re climate change.

I just look as this data occasionally. It's just simple data. There is a bash at the USA in it though, sorry about that. However it's hard to state those trends mean nothing..

At the moment we each have about 4.5 acres of land to sustain us plus a big lump of sea. We need to use the sea more intelligently. It's a resource to be developed... not "devil take the hindmost, lets see who can catch the last fish" that has been the norm to date. It's really stupid, and something could easily be done about it.

The sea has been strip mined of all it's bounty without the slightest regard for the final outcome.

This is how it should be done..
