Under the doctrine of original sin no one is living (except temporarily) because of a past sin. The sin of knowledge condemned people to be born in pain and to die.

The question you should ask is whether God had an overwhelming interest in miscelaneous actions. There is evidence in Exodus that God did have an overwhelming interest in the subject of slavery.
