Why shame on the FDA? The regulation of new drugs by the FDA accomplishes exactly what regulation is supposed to accomplish. Regulation is supposed to prevent or at least slow down competition. The FDA does an admirable job of this while at the same time having also done an admirable job of convincing most of its staff and the vast majority of the public that it is protecting them.

Robert, remember that everyone is free to take any natural remedy one wants. Perhaps some of them will work on meningococcemia. These will always be unregulated as the same public that fears drugs created by scientist and wants the FDA to make the approval decision would vote out of office any politician who would dare to try to limit their ability to use natural remedies in any amount and in any way they chose.

Obviously some must die to keep this freedom to chose and not chose in place.
