I particularly like Elder's views on the psychology of the markets as well as his views on risk management.

I have not read Elders book but i do know we are a nation that has a financial system that is our largest business. We are in the business of selling too much debt and our profit seems to be tied increasingly to the sale of this debt.

Too me there is a huge risk equivalent to that of the telecoms. Companies who sell debt are competing for debt.
When debt could possibly be the largest profit maker in our nation there is one huge risk no longer just a housing bubble.

Bob >I particularly like Elder's views on the psychology of the markets

After reading about losers and alcoholics I've been looking up the address of the AA in the phonebook!

Here's something that originally put us on to the subject of Elder --- Directional Indicators and ADX. I think this is a perfect example of an early trend in motion (that's movement, not excrement). It's the weekly chart of the CRB index.

In due course I hope to put up some similar examples of gold stocks.
