Right now, I feel relatively safe. I know for a fact that attacking Iraq will lead to counterattacks here and worse.

I probably agree....but this is really kind of short-term thinking. It is precisely this type of thinking that stayed the US's hand over the last 20 years after each terrorist attack. Unfortunately, this didnt buy us much security.

Will the world be a better place in 5-10 years if we remove Hussein from Iraq?

That's the real question.

Karen, we followed that 'don't counterattack' thinking all during the nineties, after the embassy bombing, Khobar towers, the Cole, etc. That line of thinking brought us 9/11. Attacking is risky. Not attacking is riskier. People like bin Laden and Sheikh Nasrallah interpret not attacking in one way only -- as weakness.

You believe in the reverse corollary: That by not attacking Iraq, we'll be safer? That Saddam will not provide the terrorists with WMDs to be used against us? That terrorist attacks are going to stop if we don't attack Iraq?
