Bull! That JPost editorial was nostalgia for a black and white world, which we haven't seen for a good while. And since when is judicious restraint "gauche?" Besides, back in 1941 the populace wasn't being mesmerized and transported by TV, relentlessly and insidiously distracted at every turn by consumerism, and they weren't led by a gang that touted freedom and safety of Americans with the right hand while they undermined it with the left.
