LOL!

Your opinion as to the events which happened regarding E. Timor are your opinions. They are not facts.

The idea that Indonesia needed our permission and needed us to "arm them to the teeth" in order to enable them to take E Timor is nonsense. East Timor is a tiny country, with about 700,000 people, surrounded by Indonesia with over 200 million people. If Indonesia wanted E Timor, they could have it. The question is should we have done something about it - military intervention, economic sanctions. Or should we have acquiesed (as we did)? What is the difference between "giving the green light" and acquiescence?

Now what if we had done something besides acquiese? The same folks who condemn the US for "giving the green light" would be condemning the US for imperialistic interventions in Indonesia's internal affairs. Let's face it. You and Noam Chomsky don't give a good goddam about the East Timorese anymore than you did about the Cambodians massacred by the Khmer Rouge. You just have some kind of perverted need to hate your country. And any line you can make up to attempt to justify your bias you adopt.

Just look at the situation of Iraq where you and Chomsky condemn the US for doing what we didn't do for East Timor. No matter what the US does or doesn't do, in your book, it's wrong.
