So far your only real argument against Barrett is his comments in public. FYI, a CEOs job extends beyond the duty to look or sound good in public. Not that it isn't a plus to have a strong outward appearance, but it is only a small percentage of what makes a successful company.

Your other comments have little to do with the CEO. NIH? Since when does the CEO decide upon which standards their products will be built. Isn't that what VPs are for? Project Managers? GMs?

Barrett's accomplishments? How about making Intel the #1 most technologically advanced and powerful semiconductor manufacturer on Earth, with at least 9 months head start over their nearest competition on the current level of manufacturing? Did that not help Intel to overcome a number of competitive issues over the last year?

How about Sun? Where are they now? This was the last competitor that Intel set their targets on, and now they are a shell of their former selves. Transmeta? Some "threat" they turned out to be. AMD? Guess who the next target is?

You're just being far too critical. But since I've said my peace, you needn't repeat the same arguments a fourth or fifth time. I've already seen them several times already. They only seem to be your opinions. I haven't seen any reasonable examples of Barrett leading Intel poorly, except for the rants of someone who sounds like they have something personal against the guy.
