fyi... not trying to discount that excellent post.... but the author was one of the individuals who suffered major losses in the late 90s, someone told me this confidentially in a PM, many bears on the clown thread at the time were wiped out. At least some of the arguments made in that post were valid then, and made then. Some other issues, like the debt problem, especially for telco has been dealt with partially... and the resolution was to wipe out the debtholders just like the stockholders. The point being, this has happened already at least partially and it is holding back the economy- NOW. All the sectors he lists as being in trouble are not in trouble either- retail sales, taxis, farm implements, shipping - etc. These are fine, retail especially. Then he lists the following as if they are somehow as unique as farm implements to shipping- computers, semis, optical, telecom, software, consulting.

I just felt compelled to offer an opposing view. I don't know where the mkt is going either.
