By proclamation, a Turkmen child now reaches adolescence on his or her 13th birthday. At 25, that adolescent becomes a youth, but he won't be mature until age 37. Old age arrives at 85. This was all decreed by the nation's dictator, who has also proposed renaming the month of January after himself.

Serious question, SR...What should the "old fashioned kind of liberalism" be called....It would be my bet that probably 75% or more of us, on this board and others, are just that....no matter what other labels are on us, and no matter how we vote. I call it "just plain Americanism".... I'm not talking about the sappy self-interest liberalism of the 65-75 era, but the old-fashioned kind, that helped build the middle class and alleviated some of the burdens of the poor.
