Not even a year after the Taliban pulled out of Kabul, the satellite TV industry there is booming. As many as 5,000 families have bought dishes – handmade out of aluminum cans — to pull in signals from the lone Afghan station as well as foreign sources. According to the Afghan Media and Culture Center, one Kabul shop was selling five makeshift receivers a day in the weeks leading up to the World Cup.
