And speaking of chickens, if anyone knows whether the chicken or the egg came first, I wish they'd tell me. The New Yorker solved the question in a cartoon the published some time back. Chicken and egg are lying together in bed. Sheets rumpled, chicken lying back lighting a cigarette with a half-satisfied, half-yearning expression on face. Egg is lying back, hands behind head, with very self-satisfied smirk on face, saying "well, I guess we answered THAT question."
