"Glenn, do you know how AMZN accounts for the revenue on these third-party deals? Do they book the whole sale or just the commission, processing fee or whatever their share really is?"

Bob,

My understanding is they are to only book the commission. There were rumors a few quarters ago that they booked the entire sale for some of the Borders sales. The rumor was the merchandise was Amazon's inventory. I do not know if that was ever confirmed or if it is even significant.

There seems to be a lot of overlap now with Amazon's partners. Particularly, with some consumer electronic items. I do not know how that will play out.
