Sharp,

We'll see, it's just an opening position for a trade. We'll see how it goes. I don't think it needs a crash, just a resettling toward the mean.

PTEN seems to want to go my way, short from 26.17 down to 22.75, long at 22.36 now headed back up again.

I'm short 5% gold stocks with a hard stop loss with expectation of July lows being exceeded. I would go long gold stocks at that point. A rising market may help the $, which, along with fears of deflation, would excuse a short term drop in gold stocks.

I'm expecting a rally in tech so I'm long a few techs QQQ, MERQ, AAPL, QCOM and bios ENZ, VVUS, NABI, NOVN, and some oil and gas royalty trusts ERF, NCN along with a few other energy stocks (g).
