Interesting that Cheney borrowed from Glubb Pasha; but then, he would know. Did a quick skim of your linked account; neither Schwartzkopf nor Powell come off looking like geniuses, do they?

Cheney's "Western Excursion", ;thought you might be interested. I believe Wolfowitz was also very much involved with planning.

Interesting that this was not mentioned in the portion of Cohen's book about the Gulf War. One leaves that book with the impression that Cheney was blocked from playing this level of a role because (a) the military was put off by his having escaped service during Vietnam and (b) Powell managed to use that and other things to constantly outflank Cheney.

Sounds like Cohen has Cheney's version of things which might not be the whole story. And that would not be surprising.

Perhaps Cheney still bristles over Powell's role in Bob Woodward's book.
