I thought that was a joke at first -- all the tripe I heard on NPR about how the economy was going to be pulled up by housing made me want to buy a ton of puts on FNM and the homebuilders. I restrained myself, of course -- but you have to wonder if any of these econoists had any kind of logic training -- One economist on this program was saying how nervousness in the stock market brought more bond purchases -- which brought lower mortgage rates -- which brought more refi activity -- which meant consumers would have more to spend -- which meant the economy would turn around and voila -- stocks are going higher?? LOL
