How about - Oligarchia .... retains four syllables, emphasis moves from second to third ... 'ia' being a dipthong and considered one, of course .... and so right-on descriptive, eh

Oligarchia has a certain ring to it. And you can get it down to three if you just slur the second one, the "i," out much like "Amercuns" does. And it's an apt name as well, so it wins on both style and substance.

The problem is that your original complaint about "American" was that we had co-opted two continents and a very oligarchic way. Formalizing that with your proposed name change seems contrary to your purpose. I mean, if you're OK with the oligarchy thing, then you might as well just let us keep the name we use now.

BTW, was there some reason you chose "Unitedstat-ers" rather than "Unitedstat-ites" or "Unitedstat-ians" or "Unitedstat-ists?"
