Second, the left needed - and still needs - to divert attention from the much larger bloodbath which was occurring simultaneously in Indochina after America withdrew from the region. Wouldn't want Communist regimes to get a bad image, now would you.

So, to sum up, there were two similar bloodbaths going on. The Indochina massacre (performed by our enemies) is covered massively in the press. The Indonesia massacre (performed by our allies) is virtually blacked out by the press. Some journalists try to expose the bias, and shed light on the unknown massacre. Your response? A hysterical rant against those trying to shed light.
