Dear Ron, would you like to tell us what pixie dust the President could sprinkle on the economy to make it better. LOL
#reply-17964030 Every thinking person should read this several times. The next to last paragraph.

She, and students like her, have been robbed - and not simply of the instruction they should have received through 12 years of primary and secondary schools. They have been robbed of their entrée into serious cultural debate. Robbed even of the realization that they are stuck on the outside looking in. They are doomed to an intellectual life of cynicism without ever passing through knowingness, a life in which they grasp at platitudes to resolve momentary disagreements and do not possess the analytical wherewithal to pursue underlying issues.

How about some analytical wherewithal to pursue underlying issues instead of fantasy platitudes.

A good way to gage your thinking is to consider when you find yourself agreeing with someone who posts 100% substantiated crap.

#reply-17964317 your post.
Greenspan's two-faced duplicity was quite apparent at Jackson Hole. In fighting off a claim that he did too little to slow the stock market boom in the late 90s, Greenspan said, "there was little the Fed could do to identify and fight emerging asset bubbles." He failed to explain why he then raised interest rates so dramatically even though a post Y2K slowdown was expected, there was no inflation, and he could not identify a bubble.

Interest Rates can impact economic growth. Did PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH call for interest rate cuts and did the fed finnally respond. In the election of brain dead liberals is it possible to get tax cuts on bussiness that would assist them and not get tarred and feathered in the press.

With the obstructionist dashle senate can any real changes be made to improve the economy. The stupid Americans have elected stagnation. Has 911 got some of the stupid thinking? In November we will find out.
