Clinton: Get bin Laden before pursuing Saddam
Thu Sep 5,11:18 PM ET Village Voice...

SANTA ANA, California - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton urged the administration of George W. Bush Thursday to finish the job with Osama bin Laden ( news - web sites) before taking on Iraq.

"Saddam Hussein ( news - web sites) didn't kill 3,100 people on Sept. 11," he said. "Osama bin Laden did, and as far as we know he's still alive."

Clinton, speaking at a fund-raiser for Democratic Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, said he supported President Bush ( news - web sites)'s efforts in Afghanistan ( news - web sites), including military actions and support of the Afghan government.

"I also believe we might do more good for American security in the short run at far less cost by beefing up our efforts in Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere to flush out the entire network," Clinton said.
