Yikes! Ti going after Intel's wireless networking business:

TI's New WLAN Processor First to Enable True Wi-Fi Mobility and Extend Battery Life for Embedded Applications

Provides Up to 10x Reduction in Standby Power Consumption Over Competitive Chipsets

DALLAS, Sept. 3, 2002 - Significantly reducing the standby power consumption of 802.11b wireless local area networking (WLAN) solutions by up to 10x, Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE: TXN) (TI) today introduced a new WLAN processor that enables true embedded Wi-Fi applications without compromising battery-life, or requiring extra batteries, bulky enclosures or continuous reliance on a power cord. The new processor is designed to provide highly power efficient 802.11b connectivity with up to a 10-fold reduction in standby mode power consumption than competitive 802.11b chipsets for laptop computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), cell phones and other portable devices. The lower power consumption allows end-users to be more mobile and productive longer with Wi-Fi equipment at home, work or public hot spots.

Thanks for the proof that Pentium 4 outperforms the Athlon MP on a modelhurts<->megahertz basis.

Do you use ServerBench 4.1 as a basis for your purchases?
