My opinion (and it should be yours) is that it will take 20 months max to rise 75 dollars. Why? Because gold is on a rise and when it is on a rise it usually continues. I don't see many of these two year charges and drop backs like you do. I have looked carefully at 150 years of data and it seems that the overwhelming tendency is for 3, 5, 9, 11 and 20 year trends, with 5, 11 and 20 dominating. (The 5 and 11 cycles are sunspot and weather cycles too. The 3 is probably in fact a 3.9 normal cycle) I posted these trends in chart form on a this thread about 4 months ago. (That is about 2000 to 3500 posts ago. It can be searched by the heading in text body, oil in 97 dollars or oil$97) There are some 2 year trends, but the conditions today are very nexus, nub, or nodeworthy. (towards more picaresque speechifying.) The fact that it took a long time to make a bottom points to its true bottomworthiness. Putting the rose coloured spectacles on and adding a dab of crazy glue to the bridge, it "feels" that gold is inching up. Does it not?

If you take action or inaction as "buy this" or "stay out" being equally agressive acts then you can see that you must have just as good and compelling reasons for gold's decline as for its advance. Perhaps you should escalate you market trading strategy to short, buy or go home and sulk to underline, that if you have views, why not act on them?

I used to do that. When my mother asked me what I as doing sleeping in, I told her I as aggressively opting out of participation in society's events because yesterday they were not up to par and lacked real satisfaction by my standards. I projected that the day would be no better and declined to partake.
