Unicom and 7MM CDMA subs by 12/31. There are two ways to look at this. First, you can simply say 2 MM subs as of say Aug 15 plus apx 30,000 or 20,000/day times 4 1/2 31 day months gives to 2.8 million to 4.2 million more for a total of 4.8 to 6.2 million subs. If Unicom's growth rate is accellerating, there could be more. The second way is to simply state that the trade balance between the US and China is totally lopsided with Chinese impots to the US greatly exceeding imports from the US by apx $US 7-8 billion/month. This is recessionary due to the size of the purchasing power drained from the US and the tendancy of US and international companies to fire US workers and open plants in China -- thus exporting jobs. without adding jobs in industries where the US has a comparative trade advantage. census.gov Visit Target, Wall Mart, etc and you will see that Chinese imports are going crazy. Visit N. Carolina and surrounding states and you will see that the furniture industry for one is being decimated by inexpensive Chinese imports of improving quality.. The trend has accelerated since WTO admittance. We are quickly heades for "voluntary" import restrictions unless the Chinese begin purchasing more from this country. I am sure the Chinese do not want this. What can they buy from the US? Wireless communications equipment must be near the top of the list. The current sutuation will not continue for ever. It simply can not be allowed to continue for ever. as it has been continuing since 1999.
