North, south, male, female, young, old - they were all vietnamese ... the civil war between 'north' and 'south' was a creation of foreign intervention, and was extended greatly by machinations in the back rooms of distant capitals ... made in the USA entirely for many years .... without foreign meddling would the Diem regime have conquered the north - i doubt it [without foreign meddling it wouldn't have existed in the first place imho, and quite possibly not that of Ho either] ... and if it had, the chinese might very well have tried harder to do in the whole bunch of them

A few posts back you were espousing might-makes-right while declaring good/evil irrelevant, now in this one you are stressing the inherent badness of humanity ..... so tell us amigo, who is it that gives up too easy -g-

I've about said my piece on Viet Nam for now ... it is connected to the Commerzwaffe issue only in that it demonstrates attitudes, styles, and powers of US ruling elites during a time past ... getting to be a while now though .... it will live always of course, quite regularly somebody makes reference to it, often while trying to justify some other US military action, and a surprising amount of the time you see the speaker/typer still trying to defend US policy on Indochina '40s-'70s .... they think people forget, and they can go back and rewrite the script, you see

Nicaragua is more recent, arguably more relevant to the pine lobby vs BC war for that reason, also because a number of individuals culpable in those atrocities are working in the current US administration ... believe it or not, eh ... what a world .... there is less information easily accessible on Nicaragua, as it was covert due to being illegal by US law, so the flow of body bags to suburbs didn't happen the same, and US nationals tend not to feel concerned over it .... but thirty thousands were killed there by the goons of Reagan, precious few of whom were wearing any sort of uniform, and none of even those ever threatened the US in any way shape or form

Sometimes when i see the deeply shocked hurt of some particularly strident flag-wavers on their hearing of US civilian victims of terrorism, i want to mention villagers tortured and killed by some animal working on CIA/NSC contract, inviting a comparison in the relative value of human life between the various races ... but of course one can't do that

So your old kry pick is getting a contract to mine Las Cristinas eh .... major political risk there, in a manner quite on-topic to this thread - the powers that be in the US do not like Chávez .... venezolanos do, they voted him in ... how long will the Cheneys and Rumsfelds leave them alone to decide their own future, this is the thing .... don Hugo is not helping matters by being buddies with old Fidel, he would be better off to make it plain that any oil/business deals were in his mind with the cubana people, not the regime ... some of Ragosta's counterparts in allied agencies could do him in any day, they're right there today in Colombia with proxies machine-gunning away
