paterno's big ten PC last week mentioning his shoulder being a bit sore.

Apparently it is normal for Zack to be sore after 1st game.

Party on!

>>Mills aching? Penn State quarterback Zack Mills downplayed the effect tendinitis has on his left shoulder, saying it's something he's had to deal with since high school.

But coach Joe Paterno admitted that he's allowing the lefthanded Mills to determine how much throwing he does during practice sessions.

"He's pretty much his own boss out there," Paterno said of the talented redshirt sophomore. "If he feels he needs to throw, we'll let him throw the football. We leave it up to him. He can handle a little pain and he's willing to work with it."

Nonetheless, it became apparent in Penn State's opening-day 27-24 win over Central Florida last week that Paterno wants to get playing time for Michael Robinson, Mills' backup. Robinson, a highly rated recruit out of Richmond, Va., who was redshirted as a freshman last year, came off the bench and ran four plays against Central Florida.

"I knew before the game I was going to get in," the 6-foot-3, 228-pound Robinson said. "I just didn't know when."

Nebraska is one of three Penn State opponents ranked in the top 10, along with Michigan and Ohio State. Since joining the Big Ten Conference in 1993, the Nittany Lions are 7-6 against teams ranked in the top 10 at the time they played them.<<
