Steve, Re: "P4 sucks while being 500Mhz faster. [on SiSoft Sandra benchmark]"

Not in these benchmarks. Overclocked Athlons running at 2.66GHz cannot manage to outperform equivalently clocked Pentium 4 chips.

So how many people do you think use SiSoft Sandra for their productivity? Conversely, how many people use archivers like WinACE and renderers like Lightwave? The answer may lead you to which benchmark is more "relevant" for the end-user, and not some cheerleader zealot trying to compare scores.

P.S. Among the two compared above, at least the 2.66GHz Pentium 4 is currently available in volume. AMD still hasn't shipped volumes of their 2.0GHz and 2.13GHz parts, and it's questionable whether they can ever get to 2.66GHz on the current core. So let's not mince words with unavailable parts. Given what's available, the Pentium 4 is running circles around the Athlon on the benchmarks which resemble actual applications.
