While during that very same time, in close by Toulouse, Gisele Roman, her daughter Rywka, and future husband Arthur, in that hierarchical order, did hide and organize the transfer of almost four hundred orphans Jewish kids into Spain, across the Pyrenées mountains. Now I don't want you to feel too bad about it, but all those kids ended up in Palestine soon enough. It was done over years 42 to 44. Privately funded. US Jews. (Thanks again !) Oh, at that time I wasn't yet born, so no credit. But I have the archives, as those guys names up there were my parents and grandmother. Now if Papon was your grandfather, it would explain a lot, wouldn't it...
