I am not sure you can tell the intelligence of a poster on SI so much as their level of education. Because we are writing to each other, the more educated appear more intelligent. This happens in 3d as well, but not to the same extent- because of the difference in verbal and written communication. I think it is easier to spot other types of intelligence in 3d.
