I agree, looked at from here over the course of a year, the chart looks strong. But, if you look at this chart, you can see some pretty strong retraces and the last one, until about the middle of August, certainly had all the indications of a stock headed more south than north:

Pulling the chart into today, you see a powerful move up, on heavy volume, which appeared out of nowhere, to me, at least:
