No deflation still. siliconinvestor.com

Despite the biggest market mayhem in history, spread across the globe, there is no hint of a deflationary implosion. It's so late in the game and so much has been sorted out that it's hard to think that a collapse could happen.

A war in Iraq is so trivial as to be insignificant. If it brings the Iraqi population and their oil into the world's economy, without a lot of damage during the fighting time, the war will actually be a good thing economically. Usually I'm not one to say that war is economically useful - but a civilizing war like that in Afghanistan and coming in Iraq, is a good thing. Much like having a police force to suppress criminals is a good thing.

It's still an economic loss, but such police action is a necessary part of life, like taking out the garbage, which is also something to be avoided if possible [by not creating the garbage in the first place].
