Gary,
Hi!!

Been thinking...That's dangerous... :o)

The recent announcement from CSCO/DELL:

story.news.yahoo.com

Well, some comments from a friend are giving me an impression that this sector (switches/routers) could become a very lucrative market for DELL...Had been told following the first quarter DELL had switches to market that "This was the fastest growing segment in the history of their business"...Question remains as to the ramp due to the corporate slowdown...But, is the DELL model and their low cost platform capable of winning market share at an escalating rate? History proves that "if we wanted to sell tires we'd sell tires"... Interesting to read these comments:
"Dell should be able to go after Cisco's Catalyst line in a big way," said Peabody. "It's really straightforward for an outfit like Dell to assemble these products and get them into the hands of [corporate IT departments] at a reasonable cost."

Now, we know that DELL doesn't have the capabilities at the top end...But, we do know that pundits said the same thing with concerns to so many other DELL product lines...Peabody is actually using DELL's past successes in his judgement...

Best, Kemble
