Tippet, how true. I have friends who visited from AZ late last June. The wife told me that they'd lost their shirt in the market and now had margin losses they were paying off which were akin to a 2nd mortgage, and she added they'd ditched any ideas of early retirement. Later she told her husband that they should talk to me about what I'd been doing because my portfolio was "stable" and he turned to me and said, "We've been basically stable, too." (!) To her credit <g> she asked for a list of what I'd been doing. First time anybody except my genetically similar brother has asked me for investment advice. I doubt they acted on it though, although if they had they would be 19.56% happier now. <g> I remember they both said they just wanted the market to go up some so they could get out, but that was almost 10% ago so I wonder what they are thinking now.
