that is great news
for those keeping score

#1 PC makers and Intel are saying they have growth, but not a great deal of growth. FAR better than going down and not seeing a bottom which is where they were before.

#2 Cell Phone maker Nokia, one of the leaders, says it is seeing 4-9% quarterly growth and guides to the high end of its revenue estimate. That is quite a bit of good news.

The 3rd chip driver is internet products like routers and switches. I believe Cisco is seeing flat growth there now and there is expectation to run out of bandwidth in 2003 so more gear will need to be purchases to fill the fiber with bits and keep us connected. The small, unprofitable suppliers here are falling like flies... but that could end soon as the ones that can work at a profit should survive.

This should lift companies like LRCX, AMAT, et. al. and I added significantly to my LRCX position this AM at $10.76.

I am going to buy a little AMAT today. I want to, in some small, individual ways today tell the terrorists to go F*** themselves and this is one of the ways I have chosen to do it.
