There really isn't too much difference between giving these jobs to H1-B visa workers (which is what was happening 2 years ago and pre-internet) vs. what they are doing today, moving the whole operation offshore, if you ask me. The real impact is going to be on the H1-Bs. I already know some who have returned to india. If somebody wants to cut costs in an area that is a commodity technical skill, hiring american workers to do the job hasn't been practical for years.

Doesn' bode too well for programmers here or for real estate prices in Silicon Valley. This global trend towards
outsourcing to India/China etc plays into the strength of companies like CTSH etc. <<
