The Fast and the Furious (9/11)
Houston police wanted to crack down on illegal street racing, so they planned a bust at a 24-hour K-Mart Super Center that is reputed to be a meeting place for racers. Just one problem: No one was racing. So the police, ever determined, proceeded to arrest everyone in the parking lot and everyone eating at a nearby drive-in restaurant. In all, they arrested 278 people for criminal trespass and 48 juveniles for violating the city's curfew. Many claimed they were just shopping at nearby stores.
