IC - prior to Sept 11 the United States was the largest donor of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. Where were the Arab states in their support of their fellow Muslim brothers and sisters?
That one fact alone tells the story of the difference between the Arab world and the Western states.

David, I agree. America gives BILLIONS to countries all around the world. I'm beginning to think that we should cut off all foreign aid to countries with populations that don't know where the money is coming from.

The problems in the Arab world are not caused by the West. They are borne from centuries of feudalism and despotic leaders, of intolerance, injustice, and a desire to maintain the status quo with a tiny elite controlling the masses.

Western colonial policies of the last century have also contributed to the problems of the region. It is not all their fault IMO.
