Also with-in this discussion there exist a few other (unasked) questions: Does this say many / most gay men would molest children or are gay priests any more or less likely to molest boys than other gays? If it is true that 1/3 of priests are gay how long has this been true - is this the last 20 years, 40 years,70 years? More / less? Has it always been the same % US/ North America/ western Europe & North America of gay molesting priests, to the rest of the world for a great many years? Have a large % of priests always been gay & always molested boys or is this something more or less new? fwiw In my many years of living in the western US I've known & respected a few Catholic priests and my cousins are/were Catholic. Of the priests I've known the topic of their (or my) sexuality never even came up but then these are a very limited number.
