Here we go $6.4B in Q3 and $12 by the end of October.

Here's another tidbit about Taiwan. IMO, Intel probably knew about the order delay when they spoke last week and took that into account when updating their mid-quarter guidance. $6.4B would still be well within their guidance - I wouldn't want to see Intel lower revenue estimates again below $6.3B, however.

Intel, HP delays order take up for Taiwan contract-manufacturers - report

TAIPEI, Sep 10, 2002 (AFX-Europe via COMTEX) -- Intel Corp has decided to take delivery of motherboards assigned to Taiwan contract-manufacturers including Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd (2317.TW) and Mitac International Corp (2315.TW) in the fourth quarter, a delay from August previously scheduled, amid a still lacklustre market, the Economic Daily News reported, citing industry sources.

The sources said that Hewlett-Packard Co has yet to place desktop PC orders with local suppliers even though the Christmas high season is drawing near, the newspaper reported.

Kapkan, Re: "Here we go $6.4B in Q3 and $12 by the end of October"

If true, that'd be a great tip. I've been looking for a good time to buy.

Yup, AMD's Q3 (and Q4) results will be particularly "stunning" as well.

Contradicting TSMC's gloom, Briefing.com reported
1) NVDA raising wafer orders and
2) NVDA placed a "meaningful order" (for what?) with TSMC

10:53AM NVIDIA rallies on TSM rumor (NVDA) 10.87 +1.62: -- Update -- Stock makes impressive advance in the face of warning by primary competitor ATYT (+4.4%), which has also now turned positive. Trading floors attributing ability to shake off ATYT warning to rumor that NVDA has placed a meaningful order with foundry Taiwan Semi and short-covering.
... and later,
1:49PM NVIDIA raises Q4 wafer orders (NVDA) 10.70 +1.45: -- Update -- Dow Jones is reporting that NVDA raised wafer orders for Q4. (Could be confirmation of the rumor posted at 10:53, but we have no details to substantiate that yet.) finance.yahoo.com
