There were no SA gold stocks in the 60s or 70s that yielded more than 100%. The highest yields I can recall ranged from about 25% (quite common) to 35% (rare). But old mines had a way of finding more ore and, yes, some yielded 25% for over 4 years so, in a way, you were right.
