Excellent article, WJ. As with so much in our lives, the media has, and is, overplaying the events of 9/11. Not that they weren't horrendous, but enough is enough. One does not require endless saturation to remember the horror. I come down squarely on the side of the Pearl Harbor coverage.

BTW, I firmly believe that the millisecond reportage and relentless digging that such easy and rapid communication permits has a lot to do with the lack of good leaders running for public office. If I had my way we would have shortened campaign periods in direct proportion to the increase in speed of communications, leaving less time to mine the trivia that the media overhypes. It would be interesting to see what our choices would be if the media had to rely on the pony express and telegraph.
