John....Re the PM....I sent a few yesterday...one got through without removing the preview check. The others didn't.

Re Search....I used to be able to use it, and it would yield posts back to 1997 if I made the field narrow enough!!! Now not only we are lucky if it yields anything, but if it does, it doesn't seem to yield much of anything, if anything, earlier than 2002. Try putting in September 10, 2001 for instance.

Metacrawler was the original Search Engine for GNET...the reason I bought the stock in the first place. I believe it was the search engine used for SI....GNET then bought Dogpile....and then....................>

Try putting in Metacrawler in Search....

Or FAST.com into Search.....I know I commented on how good it was a couple of years ago....Would be interesting what came up on that search.

Will be gone for a few hours, but could answer questions when I'm back....
Thanks.

Hi John
Just in case you think no one is keeping track of this.

The PMs have been messed up since 8/26/02
And the "full text" search has been messed up since you guys had the site down for maintenance on 9/7/02

To be honest, I would probably leave SI and go to ihub if that site wasn't so cumbersome.

Remember, the business is yours to lose.

I remember when changes on SI meant added features
Not taking them away!
