NGX bought Kemess from the receivor after Royal Oak went belly up.

The story I reprinted is from a NR on the Northgate website. Click on "investor information" and then "articles on Northgate".

http://www.northgateexploration.ca/NorthgateWebsite/NGWebSite.nsf/(SectionFrame)/Investor+Info

The only reason I reprinted it was to verify that Brascan is the majority owner of Northgate, and to establish a link to Noranda in whose smelter at Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec much of the Kemess concentrate containing 20 - 30% copper and 50 - 150 grams per tonne of gold is currently processed.

Noranda likes this concentrate supply and is working with Northgate on exploration to extend the useful life of the Kemess camp for decades into the future.

Frank wondered about the possibility of Kinross buying out Northgate, or the Kemess mine and I thought it would be worthwhile to mention the link to Noranda and Brascan.

As far as Kinross is concerned, I think it is a good buy on weakness, as it is very levered to the POG and a darling of the gold investment community up here in Canada. I think NGX is probably a good buy too as it's expansion plans unfold, as it is levered to the POG and even more levered to copper and an eventual rebound in world economies. I have small holdings in both and would love them to go up with wild abandon.
