Plenty of those folks were ethnic democrats. What you are doing is like blaming Gottried for Hitler. Lott and Ashcroft were children during WW2." What I said had nothing to do with FDR or Gottfried. It was a fundamental, gut level explanation of why I distrust Bush and the Republican party. I see him and them as the party of bigotry, among other failings, and I relate bigotry back to the seminal traumatic event. RE: "So the 3000 deaths mean nothing to you?" I used the term "perspective". I have dealt with a great tragedy that attacked my worth as a person my whole life. The 3000 died because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not because they were singled out, despised, and murdered. The 3000 represent the US. They were/are universally mourned and honored. So few came forward to help the 6,000,000, that those who did are honored as "just men". Complicity in the murder of the 3000 extends to a world wide network of terrorists and a few supporting rogue nations. Complicity in the murder of the 6,000,000 was universal. From the Catholic Church that was silent and then helped the Nazi criminals escape to the Brttish and Arabs who prevented Jews from entering Palestine and escaping. There were anti-semites in every European country and they helped the Nazis or looked on with approval. In the "land of the free and the home of the brave", Jews were afraid to create any kind of disturbance and watched quietly, helplessly while their brethren perished. I guess the big differenc between us is that you are able to divide the world into white hats and black hats and I see mostly grey hats. I think you should consider that the danger faced by the US in WW2 and the danger faced by Israel, today, is many, many magnitudes greater than the danger we face, today, from terrorists. The US has already responded far more violently in Afghanistan than Israel has in the territories. Israel's Supreme Court decided on which Palestinian would be exiled to Gaza for 2 years and which would not. The US Supreme Court has not approved anything that Ashcroft has done. RE: "...If you want to expel/relocate the palestinians from israel lets expel/relocate the arab non-citizens from the US." When "arab non-citizens" launch a policy of suicide attacks against American civilians, then expel them. You seem unable to consider current events with a historical perspective. The Arabs opposed Jews settling in Palestine and have tried to destroy Israel since 1948. The Palestinians and their state are the latest Arab tool to try to destroy Israel. Oslo and the Palestinian reactions to further Israeli peace moves have made the motives obvious to all but the most die-hard peaceniks. The charade must end before Palestinian pawns suffer an even worse fate than their current existence. More violence will doom them. The world (US, UN, EU, Russia, Arab League) must provide a future for the Palestinians of the territories and in refugee camps outside the territories. The future for the Palestinians is not sleeping in the same bed with the Israelis. Separate beds in separate rooms are required.
