this is the big misconception now
The greenback drew strength in the last couple of sessions from recent firmness in U.S. share prices and a growing belief that the U.S. economy may be in better shape than those of Europe and Japan.

condition of the economy runs a distant second to national balance sheet

our federal budget is way out of balance
our trade current account is way out of balance

Europe runs a trade surplus
Europe has more austere Maastricht federal spending dictates

Japan is a cadaver under foot

as far as spending budget, trade debt, leadership confidence, corporate integrity, the USA is last on the list
and that is what drives the currency
