He didn't mean the war where we got Puerto Rico and the Phillippines either, nor the coup that brought Hawaii into the fold, not even the big one WWII after which the U.S. came into possesion of the Marianas and Guam.

Of course when we tried to take Canada in 1812 we got the President's House burned.
