GZ,

Your hatred is palpable. You need a new hobby.

W/R/T Diego Garcia -

We and the Brits most certainly did engage in a terribly insensitive displacement of the indigenous populations. I correctly pointed out that this sort of behavior by imperial bully boys, i.e. our government's policy of foreign interventions, is at the root of much of the anger that feeds the terrorist groups like al Qaeda. American citizens are beginning to realize that the 9/11 attacks did not happen because, as GWB lies to us, "they hate our freedoms and liberty". No, the reason that they hate us is because we have interjected ourselves into their world for the purposes of subjugation and exploitation. Why you can't understand the normal human reaction for indigenous population to resent this hostility and do what the can to strike back is beyond me.

Now, sadly, our ambitious prince is setting out a precipitous course with his military adventurism in Iraq that will certainly inflame the passions of the "Arab street". Creating the next generation of willing "martyrs" to the cause of revenging the insults to their nations and their peoples.

If you can't see that our interventionist foreign policy is suffering from blowback, then you should take the time to educate yourself on history and human nature.

You might start by reading this very interesting article about the hubris and callousness of our foreign policy wonks, Brzezinski in particular. This interview was revelation to me. I suspected the U.S. was complicit in aggravating U.S.-USSR relations in Central Asia, but had not seen it so explicitly stated before:

It is this attitude toward the world that helps create the enviroment that makes 9/11 possible.

For you to twist my words to make it seem that I'm not a patriot is just an indication of how warped and sick your world-view is. Think about it.
