I think that Jefford's brilliant move hurt the Democrats badly for 2002, and they are painfully aware of it. I suspected that would be the case when it happened, and that, at the very least, getting rid of a Jeffords could not but help ANY party. At the end of the day, Traitor Tom just couldn't resist the temptation to obstruct everything that hit his desk. It helped for a while with the slime bag left wing base, but they could never be satisfied-and will mostly sit home this November...
