jewelry gold purity update. found this interesting - Is US law more lax than Italian?:
"Under Italian law, only items of 18k gold (or higher percentage) may be called "Jewelry". Any gold purity less than 18k must be called "Bijoux". "

btw, Yes I was right(or at least according to this web site) in the US for jewelry to be "gold" it must be at least 10k.
