And in the context of "Al Quaeda Duray's" other posts....its what I believe he meant...

I realize you have more experience with RD than I do. I remember him from the Elian thread but haven't seen much of him since. In the context of this post, it seems to me the E's interpretation is right on.

My immediate reaction to the post in question was the same as E's. I posted on The House that it didn't look like a bomb threat to me but I didn't go so far as to say that I thought he was suggesting that the Bushies would set off the bomb. I didn't because I didn't want to exercise you and others with that notion, which I thought would be more offensive to you that the notion that RD might bomb something. I'm surprised that it isn't given that you seem to interpret any criticism of Bush as libelous. When someone says something "really" libelous, you want to report him to the FBI as a potential bomber. I don't get it.

and [RD] claimed the people who died in the towers deserved their horrible deaths.....

That is the most shocking thing I've ever heard of anyone saying on SI.

Would you, or anyone, please show us where he claimed that? I wonder if he said something you choose to interpret that way here, or if your statement is actually true.

RD is a professional button-pusher. He does it cleverly, and for fun, and imo you fall into his traps, which are barely disguised, too easily.

He didn't in fact make a threat, and he never "claimed" what you say he did. Angry, you presented your own extrapolation as a quote.

Each time you fall for it, he's setting the agenda to discussions of absurdities he didn't utter, instead of discussion of assertions he actually made.

It may feel satisfying to your rage to say those things, but since this is all in print, it doesn't make sense in the long run.

Again: RD did not issue a bomb threat, but he tricked you by manipulating your strong emotions into defending a false claim that he did. He did not "claim" that the "the people who died in the towers deserved their horrible deaths," but he made inflammatory statements about American imperialism and tough traders that successfully inflamed you into claiming he did.

You could settle this with two links; but there aren't any that contain either the bomb threat or the "deserving their horrible deaths" quote you need, so really, don't waste your time.
