DJIA daily bars have yesterday as a "Cherry Bomb"
Emini futures have the same bar.
These spikes are as good as sell wiggles.

Expectations are for an economic recovery (when it begins) that will produce strong economic numbers and sustained stock growth as like the returns out of the 1998 financial crisis.

IMO.... this will not happen. When the economy and the markets do turn around, they are more likely to respond as they did after the S&L problems, more conservative, cautious and without the sustained appreciation of stock prices.

One of the Investment keys to the future is dividends and value/growth.
The corporate officers of late stopped returning profits to the share holder under the auspicious that the share holder would benefit from their management of share value. This turned out to be a deceptive ruse supported by even Jack Welch of venerable GE, as they granted themselves extraordinary personal returns. Jack along with the Worldcom and Enron gents will go down as the pimps of the 90s. When dividends return, this may take some time, the markets should be on firmer foundations.

This does not mean that market indexes cannot go up, but it suggests they'll be muted and conservative. However, smaller areas of the broader markets will do better, so the intro of single stock futures, iShares and ETF's are a very important event.
